Grade 7: Goals for this week: Demonstrate an understanding of, and ability to perform the blues.  Students will begin by performing their 12 bar blues harmony using a simple "swinging" rhythm pattern of their choice.

We will review all components if the blues by combining their 12 bar blues harmony, an improvised 12 bar blues solo using the blues scale, and a verse or two of blues lyrics to create a blues performance.

During the second class of the week, students will have a written test on the blues.  They should study the information and notes taken on their "blues soup" sheet, harmony sheet, scale sheet and lyric sheet.

Homework: Practise improvising using the blues scale, practise the blues harmony using the 12 bar blues chords. Study for the test.

All members should have mastered and memorized the patterns being performed in the polyphonic section, added movement and created the rhythm for their monophonic section.
Steps 10-20 in the booklet should be complete.
